The NZ Unofficial Film Awards announces winners: Flying Fish’s ‘Honk if you’re Horny’ wins three; Robber’s Dog’s ‘Shihad: Beautiful Machine’ wins two and Curious’ ‘I’m The One’ wins one

honk-thumb-200x284-93298.jpgFlying Fish, Robber’s Dog and Curious Films have all come out on top after being announced as winners at the New Zealand Unofficial Film Awards (MOA’s) held last night at the Wintergarden at the Civic Theatre.

Flying Fish’s Joe Lonie won Best Short Film as well as Best Short Film Script for ‘Honk if you’re Horny’. Andy Anderson also won an award for the film in the Best Short Film – Actor category.

Robber’s Dog’s Sam Peacocke won Best Documentary Director for his film ‘Shihad: Beautiful Machine’ – an all-access pass to the extraordinary rock saga of the legendary band’s fight with fame, fortune, the industry and finally itself. The film also picked up the Best Documentary Editing award thanks to the efforts of Cushla Dillon.

Curious Films’ ‘I’m The One’ picked up Best Short Film Cinematography thanks to Bonnie Elliot’s capturing of the story.
