Ex-AUT Adschool creatives picked up a total of 65 Axis awards last night – it’s got to be a record

SIMON-VICARS.jpgEx-AUT Adschool creatives picked up a total of 65 Axis awards last night, which is definitely a record for the school.

 

‘Emerging Talent Axis’ went to Kevin Walker and Melina Fiolitakis from DraftFCB who won a gold Axis for UNICEF and four silver Axis awards for Sony Walkman.

 

Simon Vicars (left), senior copywriter at Colenso BBDO, went up on stage for two Grand Prix Axis awards and 8 Golds. He also picked up 11 Silvers and 17 Bronzes. These were for Samsung Galaxy Smart Phone Line, DB Export Dry, Burger King ant-preroll, Nimble finance and Tip Top work.

 

Joe Stuart, Sklyer Bongers, Anna Kerr, Felicity Hopkinson and Olivia Trimble, all from digital agency Young & Shand, won two Silver Axis awards for their ‘Dating the Dead’ zombie campaign on Tinder for TVNZ.

Matt Williams from DraftFCB, who won big last year for the Driving Dogs campaign, collected four Bronze awards this year for Brothers in Arms and Maritime NZ. Alan Jones and Angelo An, also From DraftFCB, grabbed six bronze Axis awards for their Moonbounce Dr Who campaign.

 

Smeta Chotthu-Patel from Whybin\TBWA featured in two Bronze awards for the Minds for Minds print work, as did, Seth Joseph from Contagion for Tasti, while Sasha Arandelovic and Kevin Bachtiar DDB collared a bronze Axis for Westpac digital.
