LR Dentsu Aegis Network (2).jpgHundreds of Dentsu Aegis Network staff across Australia and New Zealand have volunteered their time to support a cause or charity in the community, as part of a region-wide initiative named “One Day for Change”.

All agencies within Dentsu Aegis Network in Asia Pacific have taken part in the initiative, seeing more than 9,000 staff support hundreds of different charity organisations including more than 1,300 staff in ANZ.

LR IMG_0414.jpgStaff at Dentsu Aegis Network in Australia have supported various charities including The Salvation Army, Challenge, Melbourne City Mission, The Big Issue, the Australian Suicide Prevention Foundation, Father Bob’s Outreach Foundation, Aim for the Stars, Y-Gap, Wesley Mission, Oasis, Breast Cancer Foundation, Greening Australia, Saving Animals from Euthanasia, Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, RSPCA, Vinnies and AskU.

In New Zealand, staff spent the day at Dominion Road Primary School in Auckland helping on a number of different projects including gardening, painting, moving furniture and helping organise the school disco.

Says Luke Littlefield, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ: “It has been brilliant to see the enthusiasm amongst our staff in the lead up to One Day for Change, as they’ve embraced the opportunity to spend time during the working day giving back to the community. From being out in the community doing gardening and maintenance work and spending time with people in need, to donating our skills and expertise to developing media and marketing strategies for charities, I’m immensely proud of the contribution that we are making across all our offices in ANZ as part of this initative.”

LR IMG_0415.jpgDentsu Aegis Network has a commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility programme, and part of this focuses on the ability to positively affect the local communities. All agencies in a country have come together to support each other as they support the community, to create maximum positive impact.

Says Nick Waters, CEO Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific: “The creation of One Day for Change in Asia Pacific is a unified approach for our group to contribute something back to the societies within which we all earn a living. It is only the contribution of one day out of our lives, but if that contribution can make a positive difference to people who rely on the support of others, then we can take heart. I hope this is just the beginning.”
