Positively Wellington chief executive, David Perks, says he’s thrilled to have Y&R on board.

Says Perks: “Y&R impressed us by pushing the creative boundaries in their campaign pitch while also keeping our business objectives at the forefront.”

Y&R was one of five Wellington-based agencies invited to the pitch.

Y&R’s newly appointed client service director in Wellington, Tim Ellis, is thrilled with the win.

Says Ellis: “The Sevens is an important and iconic event for Wellington, so it is an honour to be awarded the business by Positively Wellington Tourism and the Wellington Rugby Football Union. We’re looking forward to working with the team to deliver a fresh creative approach for the 2015 tournament and beyond.”

Y&R’s MD Steve Kane reflected on the continued momentum that Y&R is enjoying across the NZ business.

Says Kane: “I’m really delighted. We’ve been working hard on injecting a commercial creativity to our work, so it’s great to see that getting recognized in this continued success that we’ve seen in the last year or so.  And what a great brand to be able to work with!”

Work is under way already.
