With a goal of $1.3 million to raise before Christmas to provide for those desperate for food, medical care and support, RAPP has created a campaign calling for Aucklanders to ‘become someone’s angel’ this giving season.

A first for RAPP, the video was created with the help of Fish N Clips production agency and is housed on Auckland City Mission’s YouTube channel.

An appeal on Twitter by the Mission has seen the likes of Richie McCaw, Rhys Darby and David Farrier already share the video in support.

The video is reinforced by a series of outdoor ‘wings’ featured on billboards and adshels, in the hope that passers-by will donate to the Mission and then have an ‘angel selfie’ in front of the wings.

Says Diane Robertson, Auckland City missioner: “Every day the Mission provides services to Aucklanders living in desperate need. We see parents missing meals so their children have food and annually provide 11,500 emergency food parcels. Christmas is our busiest time as families who normally manage, turn to the Mission for practical assistance to get through this financially stretching time of year.

“Thanks to the assistance of the team at RAPP, our plea for donations is getting out. Donations that are crucial in allowing us to meet the incredible demand we are seeing,” Diane adds.

RAPP first began working with Auckland City Mission earlier this year when it helped edit the ‘Family 100’ piece of research and made it relevant, interesting and effective.

Most recently, RAPP worked closely with the Mission to develop creative to help raise funds for their Winter Appeal. The success of the campaign saw a result of 126% achieved against the desired target.
