2-300x165.jpgColenso BBDO leads the New Zealand agency pack at The One Show Awards held tonight at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in New York City.

Colenso BBDO has scored a Gold Pencil in Radio for MARS Pedigree ‘K9FM’; a Silver Pencil in Radio for MARS Pedigree ‘Talkies’ and two Bronze Pencils in the Print & Outdoor category for Frucor ‘Hidden Graphics’ and Fonterra ‘Back to Nature’.

Colenso’s contribution also added to the tally for the BBDO network and Mars who won Network of the Year and Client of Year respectively.

Says Nick Garrett, Colenso BBDO/Proximity CEO: “”We’re thrilled to have won four Pencils but it’s really satisfying to have played a significant role as part of the wider BBDO team that help Mars to win Client of the Year and BBDO to win Network of the Year. Every year we are challenged to deliver great work by Mars, both locally and globally, and the fact that we have picked up a gold and silver for Mars and that they’ve won Client of the Year is no accident.”

The only other Kiwi agency to score a Pencil was DDB New Zealand which won a Bronze in Print & Outdoor for SKY TV ‘Bring Down The King’.

These were the highlights:

  • Funny Or Die won Best of Show with “Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifanakis: President Barack Obama” for Healthcare.gov.
  • Omnicom secured Holding Company of the Year while two other special awards fell under the Omnicom umbrella: BBDO for Network of the Year and Mars for Client of the Year.
  • Droga5 took home Agency of the Year, largely on the strength of its “Gisele Bündchen – Will Beats Noise” campaign for Under Armour,
  • Marcel/Paris rounded out the special awards by winning the Green Pencil – an award that recognizes the best environmentally conscious advertising of the year – with its “Inglorious Fruits and Vegetables” campaign for Intermarché.
