The other agencies in the top five at this stage are all New York agencies with serious digital credentials; BBDO (5), BBH (4), Razorfish (3), Ogilvy & Mather (3).

The Colenso campaigns that have made the shortlist are Pedigree Found (Best Global Campaign / Best Use of Mobile / Most Innovative Use of Traditional Digital Media), Samsung GS5 ‘Black Cats’ (Best Real Time Marketing), Volkswagen’s ‘Reduce Speed Dial’ (Best Global Campaign) and Tip Top’s ‘Yes Sticks (Best Use of Facebook).

The Mashies, now in the third year, are run by the highly influential trend hunter and technology site Mashable.com to recognize and celebrate the best work in social, digital and interactive marketing.

Says Neville Doyle, digital planning director at Colenso BBDO: “With only 4 or so campaigns from around the world getting shortlisted in each category, getting shortlisted for anything is a real honour. However, to be leading the world at this stage is really special and it is always great to be able to shine a global spotlight onto the digital creativity of New Zealand.”

Over the last two years Colenso have enjoyed success with the V Motion project winning the Best Branded Content Series in 2013. In 2014 Burger King’s ‘Motel BK’ won the Best Social Media Campaign and Pedigree took out the Best Interactive Audio category with K9FM.

The awards will be announced on November the 5th in New York.
