justONE + .99 lead Kiwi agency pack at finalist round of the 2015 NZ Direct Marketing Awards

NZDM-Awards-2015 png.jpgBack in September the Marketing Association challenged the marketing industry to gather their best campaigns of the last 12 months, take the test and ask themselves “Is This DM”?  Today we announce the DM finalists, each vying for honours at the Awards Night in February 2016.

Says Trevor Moodie, chief judge for the Industry, Channel, Craft and Special Awards: “We all know the NZDM Awards celebrate and recognise work that exhibits excellence in insight-driven marketing projects, campaigns that connected with customers on an individual basis and generated outstanding results.

“But this year the judges faced the enormous challenge of reviewing entries that are now defining and shaping the new possible in DM. With competition just as competitive as in 2014, the changing landscape of DM was evident with the 16% increase in the number of entries received in the Channel categories.”

The agencies leading the way this year are justONE and .99 with 17 unique campaigns announced as finalists, followed by Colenso BBDO/Proximity with 11, FCB New Zealand with 7 and Young & Shand with 6. We have two nationally recognised companies competing for distinction in The Keith Norris Direct Marketing Organisation of the Year Award and Mark Thompson, customer experience and marketing insights manager of Mitre 10 New Zealand hoping to claim the accolade of 2015’s Direct Marketer of the Year.

The NZDM Awards consist of Industry sector categories that enable campaigns to be assessed against their competitors, Channel awards that represent the multi-channel environment direct marketers operate in, the Craft Awards that celebrate the ‘art’ of the individual elements within response marketing and the Nexus Awards recognising excellence in creating the foundations on which measurable campaigns are based.

All categories winners (excluding the Special Awards) will be honoured with Gold, Silver or Bronze recognition. The Gold Award recipients in the Industry and Channel categories will be judged by a panel of industry experts who will decide which campaign has risen to the top as the most exceptional example of individual brilliance in direct marketing and ultimately become the Grand Prix Award winner.

Says Gill Stewart, chief executive of the marketing association: “Congratulations to all this year’s finalists; it is a great achievement to be awarded this accolade and a big ‘thank you’ to all who entered. We’ll look forward to seeing them all on Awards night.”
