Parris Goebel resets parcels for NZ Post in latest campaign via Clemenger BBDO, Wellington
Clemenger BBDO, Wellington’s 2015 Charles Dance spot for NZ Post helped shift the country’s perceptions of the brand from an old world postal service to a modern, logistics and digital services provider.
Now Parris Goebel – Kiwi and choreographer of choice for stars like Justin Bieber and Janet Jackson – takes on the mantle of spokesperson for the revitalised NZ Post brand, in a new campaign promoting its flexible range of parcel delivery options.
The campaign, led by a 60# spot, promotes New Zealand Post parcel delivery options, including Parcel Leave and Parcel Redirect, that give you more choice about how, where and when you get your parcels.
‘My Parcels, My Way’ was directed by Campbell Hooper and interweaves Parris’ trademark Polyswagg choreography – featuring eight of the very best dancers from her Royal Family crew – with Parris herself leading the dancing and talking to camera.
Says Jean Mowday, NZ Post’s marketing communications manager: “People don’t want to wait around for parcels to turn up. NZ Post’s parcel delivery options put Kiwis in control of how they receive their parcels. That means fewer missed deliveries, and a better all-round experience.”
Adds Brigid Alkema, ECD of Clemenger BBDO, Wellington: “We chose Parris because her hectic schedule and demanding personality made her the perfect spokesperson. She represents consumers’ expectations of today’s world; control, choice and immediacy. She also just so happens to be one of the best choreographers in the world. She’s a great new voice for the ‘You can’ brand platform and we were stoked to work with her and her team.”

This is beautiful work. Well done.
Agreed, but Paris is popping up in a few too many ads at the moment though, which does water down the impact of using her somewhat.
Well…maybe not the intention..but it alienates many of the demographic groups who would actually use NZ Post Parcel services (and probably not the ones this ad is obviously targeting)…..and who are already pretty ticked with NZ Post antics.
If you wanted to show ” consumers’ expectations of today’s world; control, choice and immediacy”- show us real people who live real lives- working Mums, working grandmothers juggling two jobs, busy dads juggling work, family,fitness..and maybe not all living close to shops etc-busy farmers and rural workers, lifestyle owners with jobs and animals and family commitments…all people I know in my world!!!!
Not impressed with some big bottomed, big bellied wibbling and wobbling and stalking around -it’s not even pretty, and as “spokesperson for the revitalised NZ Post brand, in a new campaign promoting its flexible range of parcel delivery options” she loses the message in the translation!!!
