WMG_02_RGB_100kb (1).jpgFrom 21-30 April, some 25,000 athletes from around the globe will descend upon Auckland to compete in the 2017 World Masters Games, and enjoy all Auckland has to offer.

Barfoot & Thompson is the presenting sponsor and is celebrating the event coming to the city in a campaign from Big Communications.

Says Joe Holden, CD, Big Communications: “Aucklanders don’t yet realise what’s going to hit. The games will be epic so we needed the campaign to reflect this. The idea was to loyally re-create Auckland’s city-scape using sporting equipment from every single one of the 28 sports featuring in the games.”

The campaign extends across digital, outdoor, print and owned media. Also, during the 10 days of competition, Barfoot & Thompson will be highly visible at the many Auckland venues.

Says Peter Thompson, managing director, Barfoot & Thompson: “Our 1700-plus people across 64 Auckland branches can’t wait to be involved, either competing themselves or participating in activations.”

Of course, the campaign required specialist skills to create the incredibly detailed 3D generation, digital artwork and animation. For this, Big commissioned their good friends at Bunker.
