After 20 years as CEO, Daniel Barnes will shift his focus from operational management to key strategic projects and client relationships, assuming the role of founder and partner. This is a long planned move for Barnes, who seized the opportunity to make the change given the broader operational resources available to the agency within the Dentsu Aegis acquisition.

Paul Catmur, who joined the agency as ECD and partner ten years ago, will extend his management role to include CEO and will continue to be supported by Luke Farmer who will take on increased responsibility in his capacity as managing partner.

As Catmur takes on the role of CEO, the agency is pleased to announce the appointment of Mick Stalker as creative director. Mick joins BC&F Dentsu after a successful ten-year stint at Colenso BBDO where he worked across almost every client in College Hill and, like BC&F Dentsu, has won Gold awards for Effectiveness across Australasia. Most recently he’s been responsible for the launch of Spark and the corporate reputation work for Fonterra Brands.

Says Stalker: “I’ve had an amazing decade at Colenso but I’m really excited to join BC&F Dentsu, and look forward to continuing to build on their fantastic reputation for work that works. “

Stalker joins BC&F Dentsu on 19th June.

Says Catmur: “After 16 years as an ECD I’m genuinely looking forward to the different challenges that come with a CEO role. With support from Luke, Mick, Daniel, Rob and the rest of the team hopefully I won’t make too big a hash of it.”

Says Barnes: “Personally I’m looking forward to spending more time on the new strategic opportunities that are out there for our clients and our own business, and less time in the operational machinery now we’ve got such a strong new support team at Dentsu Aegis Network to cover off areas like HR and Finance.”

BC&F Dentsu will soon vacate its High Street premises to move into larger, custom designed offices on Cook Street, closer to the Dentsu Aegis Network agencies.
