Saatchi & Saatchi NZ snares Amanda Chambers from Assembly for head of digital + content role
Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand has today announced the appointment of Amanda Chambers, to the newly created role of head of digital and content.
Chambers will join the agency in early September from Assembly, where she is currently executive producer. Prior to her time with Assembly, Chambers was head of TV at Ogilvy and head of digital at Oktober.
Says Paul Wilson, MD of Saatchi & Saatchi: “Toby and I are excited to have Amanda join the senior leadership team at Saatchi & Saatchi. Amanda has the right combination of experience to help bring our ideas to life across all screens. Her deep knowledge of digital working at one of the country’s most progressive production companies means she is uniquely positioned to lead our newly combined content and digital department. I know she will also be a great addition to the strong and inclusive culture we have here at Saatchi & Saatchi.”
Says Chambers: “Working at Saatchi & Saatchi in a leadership role has been one of my long-term aspirations. I remember writing my career goals one New Year’s Day in the 90’s, and here I am in 2017, realising that dream.
“I’ve worked with this group of talented people throughout my career. The vision that Toby and Paul have for the agency moving into the future is an exciting and forward-thinking one, combining digital and TV/Content under one umbrella, and with my years of experience, I’m ready to embrace this challenge. While it’s with a heavy heart that I farewell the amazing people at Assembly, the future is bright and I’m excited to walk this new path.”

Common knowledge but everyone knows Amanda was the driving force behind the boys club that is Assembly. Inspired hire Saatchi. She’s one driven lady with something to prove.
Big loss to Assembly, big gain to Saatchi!
Congratulations Amanda, great call by Saatchi. My condolences to the boys, and best of luck to the team they will need to hire to replace you.
Great hire for a great team of people. Nice work to all involved.
