This year Speight’s gave three lucky Kiwis a custom-made bar worth $15,000 to complete their home, including personalised glassware, a bar fridge and a Speight’s tap. The promotion was accompanied by a campaign via DDB New Zealand, which launched back in April.

There were some top effort entries for the bars from all across the country, but in the end there could only be three winners and thanks to their enthusiasm and a helping hand from their mates, some lucky punters walked away with an epic at home set up for their unfinished spaces.

The winners included:

•    Peter from Christchurch who extended his man cave (aka garage) in order to make plenty of space for his bar, named Papa’s bar.

•    Lee from Whangaparoa and his mates were extremely excited to have a new and improved costal hangout and as soon as they received the good news, they were busy making space in Lee’s garage for his gold medal bar.

•    Aaron from Laingholm, West Auckland, won the first Speight’s Bar with his entry, Azza’s bar, he says “Winning the bar has been awesome, it’s great to get my mates round to watch the big games, the boxing and and have a laugh over a beer, thanks Speights.”

Aaron and his wife Collette had been renovating their home and agreed to forgo a dining room so they could make the bar work with their house.

Says Ben Wheeler from Speight’s: “Speight’s is the beer for people who get things done and the third year of We Will was testament to that. We had an overwhelming amount of entries, and it’s so great to see that the Speight’s fans and their mates are always at the ready to impress.

“We enjoy encouraging New Zealanders to roll up their sleeves and help a mate in need and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next time.”
