The 2018 Effie Awards launches call for entries; entry deadline closes 4pm, Tuesday, August 14

The 2018 Effie Awards, in association with TVNZ, has launched its call for entries. The deadline for entries is 4pm, Tuesday, August 14.

Since 1968, an Effie Award has been recognised by advertisers and agencies worldwide as representing the pinnacle in advertising effectiveness. It identifies the most significant achievement in marketing communications: ideas that work. Winning an Effie Award is about meeting a challenge and succeeding.

The 2018 Effie Awards, organised in New Zealand by the Commercial Communications Council (Comms Council), will recognise the ‘The Effie Effect’ – the positive effects for everyone involved in a win: agency, client and, most importantly, brand. Part of this is joining The Effie Effectiveness Index, a global ranking of the marketing communications industry’s most effective agencies, advertisers and brands, based on finalist and winner data from worldwide Effie Award competitions. 

David McIndoe, head of strategy at Saatchi & Saatchi and Effies Convenor for 2018, says those entries deserving of an Effie will illustrate the deep connections that brands can make when the minds of agency and client are aligned.

Says McIndoe: “Brands and the ideas that power them are business assets. They require vision to be built, they need to be deliberately maintained, jealously guarded, and leveraged with care. The value of these assets pay back over many years to come. We look forward to another year celebrating world class thinking from New Zealand.”

Entry details are now available online and will close on 14th August. Winners and finalists will be celebrated and awarded at a Gala dinner in Auckland on Thursday 18th October 2018.

Category Judging: Wednesday 26 September

Executive Judging: Wednesday 10 October (Auckland)

Effectiveness Function: Tuesday 16 October
