The Rainbow Tick programme enables organisations to understand their strengths and areas for improvement in creating an inclusive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, takatāpui and intersex (LGBTTI) employees.

Says Jim Gall, CEO, Clemenger Group New Zealand: “We value and celebrate diversity in the Group and we’re incredibly pleased to have achieved the Rainbow Tick.  We want our people to come to work feeling safe, fully accepted and that they can be themselves.

“While we are very proud, we know we are far from perfect. The process has highlighted where we can do better and we’re looking forward to making positive steps for our Rainbow staff.

“We are in the communications business and it’s important that we work towards understanding the lives of all our clients, and their customers, as well as our own staff and ensure they are appropriately represented and included.”

Rainbow Tick programme director Michael Stevens says he’s pleased to see Clemenger Group NZ become the first advertising and marketing communications group to gain the accreditation.

Says Stevens: “We encountered a clear and genuine desire across all levels of the group to be welcoming and inclusive to Rainbow communities.  Getting the Rainbow Tick does not mean you are perfect, and no workplace ever will be perfect; it does show you’ve reached, and in places exceeded, a minimum level to be certified. We are confident that Clemenger will be able to build on this work and look forward to helping you demonstrate this commitment through our ongoing work with you.”
