Yellow dumps DDB/RAPP Tribal to appoint two-year old True as new agency partner

Yellow-Pages-Logo(2).jpgYellow has today announced it that it has dropped DDB / RAPP Tribal to appoint two-year old True as its new advertising agency partner.

The decision to put its first campaign for the year out to tender comes at a time when Yellow is transforming its business to offer digital marketing services as well as its traditional print offering.

Says Maja Lee, head of communications and media: "Yellow is evolving in what we do and how we work with agency partners. As you'd expect it, was a rigorous process, and we were delighted with the insights and creative ideas that True delivered."
Says Matt Dickinson, True managing director: "It's a fantastic challenge to be working with Yellow and the journey they're on. It's not just about the ad ideas, but the right ideas for the brief. We're thrilled to bring end-to-end thinking to Yellow and deliver their business objectives."

Yellow's other agency partners include Porter Novelli for PR and Starcom for media.

Westpac - Arrived

New Lion Brand - Arrived

Telecom Media - Arrived

Warehouse Stationery - Arrived, announcement next week

The thing is, statements like that just make you look like an ignorant idiot. Why bother?

Warehouse Stationery arrived, announcement next week?

It's not pretty to see an agency boasting about a win before the client has made their decision, or made it known to anyone.

A comment like that says a great deal about a certain agency's arrogance.

Speaks volumes in fact.

I get so angry when my google searches have yellow pages in the results. They also print thousands of books that are unwanted. It's time to get into a car with localist and drive off a cliff.

Remember the PR release? said:

Guys, nothing is going to happen to DDB becaause most of their clients are tied up in fee structures that mean they'll always be sweet. The story here is that a ittlle guy came along and redistributed buisness away from the centre and out to the fringe. That's actually good news for everyone. Well done.
