CAANZ + Clemenger BBDO unveil new Axis logo

Axis_Logo.jpgIn 2013 a new trophy made its debut at the New Zealand advertising industry’s celebration of creative excellence, the CAANZ Axis Awards.

Created by Blake Enting and Cassidy van Dyk of Saatchi Design Worldwide and sculptor Terry Stringer, the coveted prize is awarded only to winners of a Gold Axis, Grand Prix and the Grand Axis.  Worthy of pride of place in agency and production company reception areas, it has marked a noticeable reinvigoration of the Axis brand.

This reinvigoration continues in 2014 with a new Axis logo making its debut. Not surprisingly, the logo keeps the trophy in the spotlight.

Axis_Mark.jpg“It’s a fantastic, iconic prize,” says Steve Boggs, design director at Clemenger BBDO, Wellington, who was responsible for the re-brand. “There’s nothing quite like it anywhere else in the world. Making the trophy the focus of the Axis brand was a bit of a no-brainer.”

The logo, which conveys the trophy in a simple line representing an idea taking shape, can now be found on the CAANZ website and will be appearing in marketing and promotional material from now until it is seen it in all its glory at the Axis Awards ceremony at the Viaduct Events Centre on Thursday March 6.
