NZDM-Awards-2014.jpgJohn Caples, Lester Wunderman, Stan Rapp, Howard Draft – all recognised as great direct marketing pioneers – helped to shape the industry as we know it today. Now the next generation of visionaries are announced as finalists in the 2014 NZ Direct Marketing Awards.

Colenso BBDO/Proximity is leading the agency pack with 18 shortlists followed by.99/justONE with 16 and FCB with 10.

The NZ Direct Marketing Awards celebrate and recognise work that exhibit excellence in insight-driven marketing projects, campaigns that connected with customers on an individual basis and generated outstanding results.

Says Michael Pryor, chief executive, Marketing Association: “The competition was stronger than ever this year, with a 19% increase in the number of overall entries and the Industry and Channel Awards each recording over a 30% increase in entries. It’s also evident to see the depth of investment that organisations are putting into the engine room of Direct, Digital and Interactive marketing with Nexus entries 25% up on last year. With recent Supreme winners (V Motion and iSite Media) held up as the benchmarks of excellence, our judges will have their hands full this year selecting another deserving winner from among the finalists.”

The NZDM Awards consist of Industry sector categories that enable campaigns to be assessed against their competitors, and Channel awards that represent the multi-channel environment direct marketers operate in. All this year’s Industry and Channel Gold Award recipients will be judged by a panel of industry experts who will decide which campaign has risen to the top as the most exceptional example of individual brilliance in direct marketing and awarded the Grand Prix Award.

For the first time and in response to industry feedback, the Craft Awards that celebrate the ‘art’ of the individual elements within response marketing, the winners will be recognised with Gold, Silver or Bronze recognition.

Three special awards round out the opportunity for recognition: The Keith Norris Direct Marketing Organisation of the Year, the New Zealand Post Student Marketer of the Year Award and the Direct Marketer of the Year, which this year is being represented by individuals from four completely different industries.

Says Pryor: “Achieving the standard to be selected as a finalist is a huge achievement in itself. Congratulations to everyone who’s made it through to the next round and a big ‘thank you’ to all who entered. We’ll look forward to seeing them all on Awards night.”

Winners will be unveiled at the Awards Night on Thursday 26 February 2015 at The Langham, Auckland. Ticket bookings can be made online at www.nzdmawards.co.nz.
