Val Morgan, the official New Zealand Cannes Lions representative, is once again giving the country’s best young advertising talent the opportunity to represent New Zealand in the Young Lions competition at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this June.

Val Morgan will send two Young Lion teams, each consisting of two people, to showcase their talent on the world stage at the most prestigious advertising award festival. One team will compete in the Media Young Lions competition and one team in the Film competition.

The teams that go on to represent New Zealand will be decided by a local competition that mirrors the challenge to be faced by the Young Lions in Cannes. A brief will be delivered for a response time for 24 hours for the Media teams and the film teams will have 48 hours to respond with a filmed commercial.

The prize for the winners, which includes travel, accommodation and festival registration, is a once in a lifetime opportunity for New Zealand’s best young talent to mix and compete with the best minds in the advertising and communication business globally.

Syas Suzie Lamborn, sales director of Val Morgan NZ: “We’re thrilled to be back this year with the Young Lions competition.  The categories are Media and Film with the winning two teams heading up to Cannes, France to compete against the other international Young Lions winners in this global competition.  It’s an incredible opportunity to experience Cannes Festival of Creativity under the Young Lions banner.”

Young advertising professionals in creative agencies and media agencies who would like to enter are invited to register their interest with Val Morgan by 5th March by going to www.valmorgan.co.nz/cannes.

The 62nd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity takes place from 21st to 27th June.
