Screen-Shot-2013-09-12-at-3.57.26-PM.jpgDDB has continued its winning streak at the Asia-Pacific Effie Awards held at the Four Seasons Ballroom Singapore, taking home the prize for top New Zealand agency and third agency overall.

Collecting four gongs for clients STIHL, SKY TV and Paw Justice, DDB was the most awarded New Zealand agency at the event.

The only other NZ agency to pick up Gold was Barnes, Catmur & Friends, which also scored two Silver Awards. Y&R NZ, Clemenger BBDO and Colenso BBDO scored one Silver each. Colenso BBDO also scored one Bronze.

Says Lucinda Sherborne, DDB head of planning: “The APAC Effies rewards the region’s most outstanding campaigns that have proven success in meeting clients’ strategic objectives. We’ve been awarded accolades across three different clients which is particularly thrilling and being named third agency overall in the Asia Pacific region is a feat we’re bloody proud of. None of which would have been possible without our awesome team and fearless clients who’re open to taking risks and jumping on-board with our big ideas.”

Says Stace Hall, STIHL marketing manager: “A gold at the Effies for sustained success is pretty incredible. We’re very proud of the result and honoured that the campaign DDB and STIHL have come up with has been recognised as world-class work.”

DDB’s success at the Effie Awards follow after its recent victories at both the Axis and AWARD award shows.

Hosted by veteran actor and comedian Pam Oei and attended by some 170 marketing professionals from around the region, the awards gala presented a total of 61 Awards – 1 Grand Effie, 17 Golds, 19 Silvers and 24 Bronze. The Grand Effie was awarded to Havas Worldwide India for its “No Child Brides” campaign for Child Survival India.

The winners emerged from 92 finalists across 36 categories and the coveted Agency of the Year Award went to Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai who picked up 8 awards – 2 Golds, 4 Silvers and 2 Bronzes. Lowe & Partners Worldwide Mumbai and DDB Auckland came in second and third respectively.

Ogilvy & Mather was named the Agency Network of the Year.

The winners and finalists will be accorded points that will add to their ranking in the Effie Effectiveness Index, the world’s most prestigious ranking of effective marketers, brands, agency holding groups, agency networks, agency offices and independent agencies.
