Awwwards and CSS Design Awards, two of the world’s leading website competitions, have both named Zero Landfill: We Are What We Leave Behind their Site of the Month for October. The website, for Subaru of America, was the result of a collaboration between Resn and advertising agency Carmichael Lynch.

The winning site uses tree rings as a metaphor to showcase Subaru’s environmental history and social responsibility. Scrolling through the page causes the tree rings to unfold and form a timeline. Resn, which maintains a global presence, with offices in both Wellington and Amsterdam, say they are incredibly happy to receive the awards.

“These are global competitions. They only give out one of these each month. So, annually, that’s only, like, ten or something. Maybe less.”

Although these competitions actually award twelve Sites of the Month every year, they are considered highly prestigious in the web development community. The wins are part of a record beating year for Resn, which includes two Webby Awards, 25 FWA Awards, eight Awwwards, and numerous others.

“It’s been remarkable really, we couldn’t have asked for a better result this year.”
