Flux Animation helps Paediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Imaginary Friend Society campaign

Hero_Campaign_Image.jpgFor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Paediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and RPA LA, have debuted 20 short animated films that help kids make sense of scary cancer-related topics.

18 different animation partners from across the globe, including Flux Animation, were invited to develop a unique style to tackle each story in a language a kid can understand, which is sadly not currently available and most definitely needed. The ‘Imaginary Friend Society’, is narrated by somebody’s imaginary friend who has been asked to help these kids in need. The films are engaging and imaginative but most importantly, they make sense of cancer-related topics that matter to these kids, across the spectrum of the treatment experience.

Says Joshua Forsman, EP, Flux Animation: “We are launching these the last week of September, during Cancer Awareness Month where we are hoping their will natural PR boost to get this great cause noticed globally. Underway currently is a plan for a film festival premiere of all the movies that will be live streamed on Facebook. They are hosting them on a YouTube channel as well as a website and the Paediatric Brain Tumor Foundation are looking at getting them released on Netflix.

“One of the initial videos asks people to donate their own imaginary friends to the cause. The video will be posted on Facebook and other media channels, and allow people to upload their imaginary friend. Paediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and RPA are going to take a selection of the donated imaginary friends and turn them into colouring books, journals and motivational posters that can be used in hospitals and treatment centres. The rest of them will be featured in an online gallery that the kids can draw inspiration from.

“We were honoured to be approached by RPA and the Paediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to partner with animation studios around the world to bring this content to life. We in the industry are always striving to make a difference and for myself and the Flux team this has never been more appropriate. It is so refreshing to be able to put competition aside for a great cause and work alongside with animation world leaders such as – The Mill, Elastic, LOBO, Roof, Laundry, MPC LA, MPC NY, Psyop, Giant Ant, Gentleman Scholar, Hornet, Starbeast, Strangebeast, Wolf and Crow, Titmouse, Trunk, Renegade and Blue Zoo.
