Sky-TV-boxing.jpgSKY TV is rallying the country ahead of the heavyweight title unification between our home town hero Joseph Parker and Anthony Joshua. The WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO titles are on the line as the pair square off this weekend in-front of 80,000 screaming boxing fans in Cardiff.

The emotionally charged 60-second film, created by Hello, Auckland, features Parker’s mother, Sala, who recounts memories of her son’s journey to the top, his proudest moments, personal memorabilia and, at the end of the film, invites the country to rally behind her boy by sending personal messages of support to www.ShoutOutForJoe.co.nz. The messages are sent to the other side of the world to appear on a large digital billboard in the heart of Cardiff, for Joseph and the world to see.

“This is his biggest fight and we want to show Joe we’re all behind him, all of Sky TV, all of New Zealand. We’re rallying the country to show their patriotic support for him on a world stage. He’s about to walk into an arena of 80,000 screaming British boxing fans and we want to let him know he’s not alone. It’s heartfelt messages from his Kiwi fans, his Samoan fans, right in the heart of Cardiff” says Kristy Simpson, Head of Digital, Sky TV.

Mike Watson, Director of Marketing, Sky TV, echo’s the sentiment: “It’s a great way for the country to get behind Joseph Parker, on the world stage. We’re so far away, but through this campaign Kiwis can get closer to the build-up of the historic fight. A great idea and clever mix of digital media has delivered a brilliant outcome by the team and agencies involved.”

The campaign has launched on television, digital and social media. The film was produced by Curious.
