Filmed in cinematic black and white, the campaign draws on creative used internationally by Schweppes, the soft-drink brand owned by The Coca-Cola Company in New Zealand. Schweppes enlisted TVNZ’s Blacksand and Commercial teams to work alongside its media agency Ikon to strike a more locally relevant note.

The refreshingly different TVCs draw on Magasiva’s high-wattage screen presence to deliver viewer classification guidance for mature audiences. He suavely welcomes viewers to a handpicked selection of premium programmes screening on TVNZ, reinforcing Schweppes brand positioning as the sophisticated choice for discerning adult consumers.

Says Gina Beck of Coca-Cola Oceania: “The new Schweppes TVC campaign works across many levels: not only does it strengthen the brand’s iconic, discerning positioning in a relevant Kiwi way, it also captures the creative idea that with age comes experience, and it takes experience and character to appreciate a Schweppes. Alongside this, the TVNZ Blacksand and Commercial teams created a clever role for the brand – to use Schweppes as a vehicle to deliver the adult classification message. The partnership between Coca-Cola Oceania, TVNZ and Ikon proved to be a winner and we are thrilled with the result!”
