NZ scores 18 finalists the One Show’s Cross-Platform, Direct and Print & Outdoor categories

73660_73523_ANZ 0004 OpenLetter_US_A4_FA2.jpgThe One Club has today announced the Film, Cross-Platform, Direct and Print & Outdoor finalists for the 43rd Annual One Show Awards, the most prestigious worldwide competition celebrating the year’s best in all forms of advertising, design and marketing communications.  There are finalists from 40 countries.

New Zealand has scored 10 finalists in Print & Outdoor, four finalists in direct and four in Cross-Platform. No NZ agencies were shortlisted in Film.

Y&R New Zealand leads the Kiwi agency pack with six finalists just ahead of Colenso BBDO with five. DDB New Zealand has scored three finalists and Special Group and FCB both have two finalists each.

One Show judges shared some of their observations about the work they saw in their respective disciplines this year.

Says Malcolm Poynton (Direct), global CCO, Cheil Worldwide/London: “Emoji keyboards are everywhere.”

Says Icaro Doria (Cross-Platform), CCO, DDB/New York: “There’s a lot of attempts to do interesting things with VR.”

Says Ben Tollett (Film), ECD, adam&eveDDB/London: The old distinctions between online film and offline are becoming more blurred.”

Says Eugene Cheong (Print & Outdoor), CCO, Ogilvy & Mather/Asia Pacific/Singapore: “Print is now so closely linked with the Internet.”
